I’’ve been living in Kouvola since the end of March and have really been enjoying my time here. It has been an honor to get the opportunity to play for Sudet and it is helping me grow a lot as a player and person. I could not ask for better coaches and teammates.
Since moving to Finland I have learned to appreciate the scenery around me. Finland is by far one of the most beautiful places I’’ve lived. The best part about living in Kouvola for me is the people I’’ve met. Everyone has been very welcoming and nice so it has made being away from my family much easier. I’’m very thankful that people have helped me so much with the transition to living in a different country. I think the hardest thing for me has been trying to learn Finnish. I have made some progress but it still needs a lot of work. I can always make the team laugh when I try to speak it. It’’s been fun trying a lot of new things here. I’’ve been to the sauna a few times, watched Finnish baseball and tried a lot of new foods. I think the style of football the teams play here is great. The teams like to keep possession and play very tactical. It’’s been awesome getting to learn different styles of play.
Overall, I have loved living in Finland and am looking forward to the rest of the season. This opportunity has been everything I hoped it would be and more.
